CATHEDRAL NOTRE DAME OF MONACO





Built on the Rock of Monaco (Monaco-Ville), the Cathedral of Monaco is a Byzantine-Romanesque building built during the principate of Charles III of Monaco. She is the principal church of the Archdiocese of Monaco. She successor to the St. Nicolas church which was destroyed in 1874. The first stone of the cathedral was laid January 6, 1875. The work was completed on 12 novembre1903, but it was consecrated in 1911.
