THE FOUNTAIN OF THE SUN
The Fountain of the Sun was inaugurated in 1956 . In its basin are located five bronze statues sculpted Alfred Janniot representing characters from the Greco-Roman mythology: Earth Mars, Venus, Mercury and Saturn
Before the center was a large statue Apollo over seven meters high, which was removed in 1970s, unofficially because of its nudity that might offend some people . In 1990, the statues were removed to be restored but then the whole fountain was removed because of leakage problems. It is only 2007 with the completion of the tram, she reappeared on the site. Only the statue of Apollo has not regained its original location.
PLACE MASSENA
Since 2007, as part of the installation of contemporary art throughout the route of the tramway, the Massena is punctuated by seven statues resin white perched on poles several meters above the ground . These statues, shaped Buddha or scribe, light up the night and changing colors are supposed to represent the seven continents. The set, designed by the Catalan artist Jaume Plensa is the work called "Conversation in Nice."
THE NEGRESCO
